These pieces of grain sack are from between the late 18th- to the early 20th-century and is handmade from long linen bolts that were painstakingly handwoven. Originally used for storing and hauling grains, these grain sacks are put into a collage of pieces, ranging from creamy oatmeal color to both lighter and darker pieces mixed in as well.
Embellishing only when needed, each piece highlights the intrinsic beauty of the textile’s origin, using its own seams, stitching, and natural texture to give it visual dimension. Each textile is then thoughtfully arranged into a modern statement piece that adds a touch of vintage to any space.
Each textile may contain slight imperfections in the fabric but they’ve been intentionally left to add character to the piece. Handcrafted into a statement piece, and ready for hanging.
